U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
TRAVEL SCREENING PORTAL

WELCOME TO THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS TRAVEL SCREENING PORTAL

The U.S. Virgin Islands Travel Screening Portal screens travelers prior to arrival to the Territory and is a result of the coordinated efforts of the Office of the Governor, the Department of Health, the Virgin Islands Port Authority and the Department of Tourism.

Every traveler aged five (5) and older must use this portal before travel.

COVID-19 TESTING INFORMATION

The safety of residents of and visitors to the Territory is our highest priority as we work together to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Every traveler aged five and older who enters the U.S. Virgin Islands is required to use the USVI Travel Screening Portal AND to submit a COVID-19 test result prior to travel to avoid processing delays, enhanced health screenings and/or mandatory self-quarantine.

Travelers are required to provide evidence of:

  • a COVID-19 molecular (e.g., RT-PCR, viral or nucleic acid amplification) test from a nasal or throat swab sample taken and NEGATIVE result received (both within five days of commencement of travel to the Territory)

    OR

  • a COVID-19 antigen (rapid) test from a nasal or throat swab sample taken and NEGATIVE result received (both within five days of commencement of travel to the Territory)

    OR

  • a COVID-19 antibody finger stick or blood draw test taken and POSITIVE result received (both within four months of commencement of travel to the Territory)

For molecular and antigen tests, the five-day window is related to both taking the test and receiving results; tests taken or results received outside the five-day window do not meet the requirements. Turnaround time for receiving test results varies by location. Travelers are encouraged to plan testing dates so as to receive their results within the five-day window prior to travel to the USVI.

Travelers should produce their original test result and travel certification received from the Portal upon arrival. Travelers unable to produce the required test result are subject to mandatory self-quarantine of 14 days from the time of entry into the Territory until they are able to receive the required test result.

Every person ordered to self-quarantine shall proceed directly from the airport or seaport to their accommodations provider, until the required test result is received, and shall be responsible for all associated costs, including the COVID-19 test, transportation, accommodations, food and beverage, and medical care.
